*Process Technician Requisition Number 9008BR Job Function Manufacturing / Operations Business Unit Group Engineered Products & Solutions Location IN-Lafayette Job Status Full-Time Relocation Eligible Negotiable Minimum Education Required High School or GED Minimum Years of Experience 3 Minimum Travel Required None Position Description We are looking for full time Process Technicians for our Lafayette Operations group of North American (NA) Extrusions in Lafayette, Indiana. Reporting to the Ingot Plant Manager, the Process Technician is responsible for helping to drive the organization towards greater productivity through daily management focus at the Cell and Group levels.
Process Technician responsibilities include but are not limited to: . PC and Group level Daily Management . Sponsoring and coaching Alcoa ABS principles . Leading PC and Group level problem solving . Calculating and measuring productivity, throughput, utilization, and delivery performance . Leading plant wide scrap and rework reductions . Providing both equipment and manpower scheduling . Setting PC and Group level goals and expectations . Managing PC and Group level training and cross training efforts . Managing PC and Group level downtime reduction efforts . Providing and managing Help Chain processes through off-shifts, weekends, and holidays . Filling-in on floor supervision duties during weekends, vacations, etc. . Sponsoring daily group level safety huddles Internal Candidates Note: The job grade for this role is 12-13 and will be evaluated based on experience. Basic Qualifications . A minimum of 3 years of hands on manufacturing experience . High school diploma or GED . Environmental, Health and Safety experience . Organizational, communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills . Knowledge and experience in applying lean manufacturing or Alcoa Business Systems . Ability to establish sound priorities and objectives and be able to function in a high pressure work environment characterized by constant change. . Must be self motivated, able to motivate others, able to set direction and expectations and follow-up to ensure success . Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Office package Preferred Qualifications . Experience in a unionized facility . Proficiency in Oracle . 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience
