Description:
Summary:
The purpose of this position is to construct, assemble, and/or pack in all operations and jobs within the department/work cell (sub-assemblies, assemblies or finished product). Methods of constructions may vary with the type of work performed. This position maintains through rotation a thorough knowledge and proficiency of all positions within the department/work cell.



Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
. May set up fabric in proper order to ensure correct quantities and colors according to production logs or verbal instructions. May set up and operate sewing machines, inserts proper foot, plate, thread, bobbin, needle, oil, and adjust stitch size for safe and efficient operation.
. Sorts a variety of rejected parts and determines whether parts should be scrapped or reworked. Uses a variety of small tools including but not limited to sanders, hammers, punches, dolly blocks and similar hand tools to rework parts.
. May run smaller machines (spot welder, punch press, shrink wrap equipment, grinder, and buffer) which are not classified as a machine operator.
. Maintains consistently high quantity and quality performance standards.
. Keep work area clean and in an orderly manner.
. Complies with company rules, regulations and safety practices as well as any local, state or federal job related regulations.
. Performs established preventative maintenance on equipment and notifies supervisor when extensive or non-preventative maintenance is needed.
. All other as judgment/necessity dictates or as requested by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. This
member must have the ability to use deductive reasoning in order to make general decisions within guidelines as to safety, quality, tolerance, operation and set up sequences.

Education and/or Experience:
. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
. Previous experience working in an assembly or packout area would be helpful.
. Ability to read and interpret production logs and simple drawings.
. The ability to work safely around machinery.
. Ability to work in a factory environment that may incur temperatures fluctuations averaging around 50 degrees in the winter and 100+ degrees in the summer months and where dust, fumes and noise are commonplace.
. Ability to use deductive reasoning in order to make general decisions within guidelines as the quality, tolerance, operation and set up sequences.
. The use of simple arithmetic such as addition and subtraction of decimals and fractions.
. Ability to work up to 10 hour days as the schedule dictates.
. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (for distance less than 10 feet) to set steel/wood/plastic/laminate parts into machinery or to make changeovers, on a continual basis.
. Ability to perform each task at an incentive pace.
. Ability to work at a fast, steady pace while fulfilling strict quality checks.
. Flexible and willing and able to rotate through several cell positions throughout the working day.
. Positive team attitude and excellent safety awareness are required.
. Knowledge of the industry

Language Skills:
Ability to read and communicate effectively with other members.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in the production and assembly of product and/or product parts
Ability to make final judgment on product verification and quality prior to pack out

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the member is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear, use hands and/or fingers to handle, touch objects, assemble parts, utilize tools or controls. They must regularly lift 40 pounds, carrying and moving parts, materials, and product. Ability to perform tasks at a standard rate. They must have hand and foot coordination to control and adjust equipment or tools. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
Duties may be performed in a work environment with seasonal temperatures of high heat and/or humidity.
