Description: Summary: Under the minimal supervision of the Group Leader, the machine operator will have the knowledge and ability to set up and operate a brake press, including punching, forming, and grinding of parts. They will have the ability to read production tickets and follow production schedules. The member will also hang on parts from paint line. They will move through a rotation and have a thorough knowledge and proficiency of all the machine operator functions within the department or work cell. They may run smaller machines such as shrink wrap equipment not otherwise classified as a machine operation.
Requirements: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties as management may deem necessary from time to time. . Re-work product or parts as necessary to maintain quality standards and customer requirements . Read and follow production schedules . Ability to rotate through machine operator positions within the department and/or work cell . Set up and adjust machine in accordance with drawings, blueprints and templates a wide variety of materials oriented machinery within the plant. . Will changeover all gauges, dies and fixtures not permanently attached to machine. Will inspect materials for proper gauge and suitability of flatness. . Maintain the standard performance rate while adhering to quality standards. . Maintain 6S standards to ensure a clean, orderly and safe work area. . Follows company rules, regulations, and safety practices as well as local, state or federal job related regulations. . Ability to use small tools such as hammers, screw guns, sanders, drills, and cutting tools
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. This member must have the ability to use deductive reasoning in order to make general decisions within guidelines as to safety, quality, tolerance, operation and set up sequences.
Education and/or Experience: High school education or GED required. Use of simple arithmetic such as addition, subtraction and multiplication
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret production schedules/logs
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in the production and assembly of product and/or product parts Ability to make final judgment on product before sending it on.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the member is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear, use hands and/or fingers to handle, touch objects, assemble parts, utilize tools or controls. They must regularly lift 40 pounds, carrying and moving parts, materials, and product. Ability to perform tasks at a standard rate. They must have hand and foot coordination to control and adjust equipment or tools. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: Duties may be performed in a work environment with seasonal temperatures of high heat and/or humidity.
