Analyst - Biotech / M&A / Corporate Strategy
Our client, an international Biotechnology company with a $2.5B market capitalization, is seeking a Senior Associate to join their internal Corporate Strategy team based in NYC.
Qualified candidates MUST have a strong scientific background
Position Duties:
Evaluate potential M&A opportunities for the company
Conduct M&A defense strategies due diligence
Perform asset optimization analysis
Analyze potential spinoffs of the firm’s platform, such as IPO opportunities in foreign markets or joint venture’s with local blue chip partners to increase overall valuation
Perform capital markets analysis in order to assist the firm in raising capital to fund strategic deals
Perform general valuation analysis, financial modeling and other financial analysis to facilitate deal opportunities
Interact with internal management and external clients
Travel as needed
Position Requirements:
MBA Finance required
MS Biology, PhD Biology and/or MD required
3-5 years transactional experience within a biotechnology focused Hedge Fund, Investment Banking biotech M&A group, or a Buy-Side or Sell Side biotech group
Strong financial modeling, valuation analysis and due diligence skills are critical
Must be exceptionally bright with a strong scientific background and strong quantitative analysis skills
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Expertise in Excel is critical
Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
Base salary to $250K + performance bonus + stock options
Candidates are required to submit a Deal Sheet detailing all transactional M&A, Joint-Venture and/or other strategic opportunity deals that he/she has worked on and/or closed. The specific role played on the deal is required as well.
