Title: Application Engineer - OTS Location: India-Hyderabad Invensys Operations Management is a leading supplier of Operator Training Simulator (OTS) Applications for Hydrocarbon and Power Plants worldwide. We are dedicated to helping employees meet their commitments to customers, and to achieve their personal career currently have an excellent opportunity for a Application Engineer to join our organization in Hyderabad, India. Requirements and skills needed include: * Degreed Chemical Engineer (BS, MS or PhD) * 2-4 years experience * Basic process understanding. * Sound knowledge of first principles of engineering and the fundamental relationship between process variables. * Ability to understand PIDs, PFDs, and control logic. * Basic understanding of DCS, ESD and other control systems. * Some basic knowledge of process unit start up and operating procedures. * Software integration of process model and control applications to create a single fully integrated application analogous to the process unit. Key responsibilities include: * Develops software and completes all necessary documentation to meet requirements of the application specifications * Assists with both home-office and on-site engineering, including: application testing, commissioning and hardware integration * Participates in customer acceptance and application testing under the supervision of a Lead Engineer * Interfaces with Business Unit resources, to ensure high-quality and accurate deliverables * Anticipates potential changes in project deliverables and timing and makes the Lead Engineer aware of a potential need to secure additional engineering resources to fulfill delivery requirements. * Provides Sales with engineering estimates for potential applications opportunities of low complexity, dollar value, or risk using standardized labor estimating routines and methodology. Invensys Operations Management is an Equal Opportunity Employer. * Experience in Automation control industry and/or related engineering experience in disciplines such as process, chemical, mechanical, industrial, and/or electrical engineering with end-users and/or EPCs(required) * Experience working as part of a team in a project environment(required) * Work experience in a global company(desired) * Experience with Invensys' or competitor's equivalent products - such as, but not limited to INDISS, Audy, HYSIS, Unisim, OTISS, Visual Modeler or AspenPlus (desired) * Experience with steady state simulation, dynamic simulation or any advanced software application(desired) * Exposure to EPC work(desired) * Experience with risk assessment and mitigation action planning(desired) * Experience with third-party solution providers(desired) * Experience interfacing with customers and leading customer interactions(desired) * Experience managing difficult client situations(desired)
