BSI is searching for a Polishing Technician II to work with one of our clients in Boulder. Polishing Technician II will work under direct supervision to perform various standard optical fabrication, coating process and laser assembly tasks. Major Responsibilities: - Fabrication. Perform optical fabrication processes, including but not limited to coring, sawing, curve generating, milling, beveling, blocking, deblocking, grinding and polishing. - Coating. Perform coating processes, including but not limited to, monitoring vacuum deposition processes according to process instructions, performing routine and periodic maintenance on coating chambers, checking coating results and maintaining records. - Inspection. Perform routine inspection, measurement, cleaning and packaging of optical components. - Laser Assembly and Test. Perform basic assembly steps in laser assembly. These include, but are not limited to, part cleaning, tube cutting, glass assembly, brazing, gas fill, alignment, final assembly, test and packaging. Qualifications: Minimum of high school diploma or 5 years experience in a process manufacturing environment desired. One year experience in an optics or laser manufacturing environment desired. Ability to read and follow written instructions. Excellent math skills desired. Polishing experience required.
