Job Description
SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision, performs cable assembly operations to build highi-quality cables and wire harness products according to schedule and customer on-time delivery commitments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Builds simple point-to-point wire/fiber cables following pick ticket, basic drawings, MI's and process helpers to a high level of quality and productivity.
· Demonstrates proper use of basic hand tools: heat gun, hand crimpers, power screwdriver, solder pot, ruler and other machines such as pinning machines and automatic wire strippers.
· Identifies wires with use of basic color code sequence.
· Completes all necessary paperwork relating to the building of cable assemblies.
· Responsible for clean up and bench organization.
· Responsible for tool inventory.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties as required in support of the department and company.

· Manual dexterity used regularly with repetitive finger motion.
· Frequent lifting up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, the ability to identify colors, hand/eye coordination, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions in English-language, read blueprints, drawings and schematics.
· Ability to build cables and wire harnesses using manufacturing instructions, while meeting all workmanship standards.
· Ability to measure accurately using a ruler or tape measure.
· Writing skills required to complete documents and forms.
· · Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.
· Ability to adapt to schedule changes with a positive attitude. Ability and willingness to work overtime when requested are required. Some positions require 10 or 12 hour schedules as an essential duty. Regular 8 hour schedules typically run as follows:
· Day Shift 6am-2:30pm
