Support the goals to strengthen the overall production operations of MICO, Inc. Work with the product and process development teams in developing an efficient manufacturing and assembly process and responsible for creating all detailed documentation for new product introductions (NPI). Create routings, setup sheets, quality control plans, work instructions, cleaning and handling processes and reviews test specifications. Responsible for processing engineering change notices (ECN's) related to the production processes. Review prints, change production revision levels, process changes and update documentation as needed or required. Work with internal costing teams and conducts detailed costing of production assembly processes, tooling and equipment utilizing Micro Estimating software. Lead PFMEA (Process failure modes and effects analysis) process team to complete PFMEA analysis in a timely manner on all projects assigned to specific product groups. Will assist others with product FMEA's as requested. Develop and implement verified processes with detailed associated documents and work instructions. Work with supervisors, managers, lead persons in the manufacturing areas of MICO to analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow. Design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Create innovative processes for the manufacture, assembly and test of MICO, Inc. products, using product specific fixturing and automated systems to increase throughput, capture data and reduce expenses. Confer with vendor and process suppliers to determine product specifications and make suggestions regarding purchasing of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Request quotations from suppliers as needed. Conduct observation and analysis of personnel and work procedures to determine time and motion requirements of job duties. Work within ETQ software for all non conforming product issues. Utilize ETQ workflow to document and resolve any internal or external corrective actions. Analyze work-study data and equipment specifications to establish time and production standards (time studies). Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, and relocating workstations and equipment. Perform other duties such as production tooling design, time and motion studies, implementation of special systems design, address any environmental and safety issues or concerns. Lead problem solving sessions such as: root cause analysis, trouble shooting and mistake proofing. Support the assembly department with any associated method for requests for support. E.g.: (K-box) Will follow all ISO procedures and work instructions. Train manufacturing personnel on proper use of assembly process and test systems as required. Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment as to identify problem. Perform tasks with other Maintenance personnel as needed or requested. Assist in dismantling defective machines and equipment; and installs new or repaired parts. Troubleshoot, install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, wiring, electrical, and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. Look for and recommend product and process improvements in support of corporate goals, objectives and activities. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or a related field; plus 3-5 years related experience and/or training in hydraulic valve assembly; electronics, hydraulics or equivalent combination of education and experience. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read English, analyzes, and interprets technical and numeric data and technical procedures. Ability to write reports justifications, timelines, procedures and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, vendors and customers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to operate a PC computer and the MICO Inc. ERP system. Ability to setup and operate, Daisy Lab, PLC's, and Data acquisition systems. Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Lotus Notes, Micro Estimating, ETQ, Onbase Client software.
