The Palatka Mill is seeking to fill an
Asset Availability Leader - Fiberline. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work as part of the Pulp Mill team to support the mill effort to safely improve equipment reliability by applying reliability principles such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify the appropriate Predictive and Preventative Maintenance (PPM) procedures. Mill equipment includes converting, paper machines, pulp processing, or power. This position will have primary responsibility for the pulp processing area which includes wood chip screening and conveying equipment, batch digesters, brown stock screens and washers, ClO2 generator, and bleach plant. Assist in continuing to develop and improve Operator Basic Care process (OBC).
Collects, categorizes, analyzes and report production loss data. Assimilate information to identify and prioritize opportunities to eliminate primary causes for production losses through value based gap analysis. Collaborates with key personnel to develop and execute gap closure plans for the highest valued opportunities.
1. Facilitate and coach Operations, Maintenance and Engineering to proactively troubleshoot opportunities using various lean manufacturing tools such as FMEA in the areas of: Safety, Environmental, Quality, Productivity, Cost and Development.
2. Drive efficiencies between Maintenance and Operations by optimizing the Scheduled Shutdown work orders to align directly with the highest valued causes of: Downtime, Slow Back and Waste identified by the AAL Paretos.
3. When necessary, the AAL, Optimizer and Gate Keeper will jointly develop new operating or maintenance procedures that will improve and sustain breakthroughs in productivity.
4. As part of the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), lead the Equipment Criticality Analysis and the creation of a spare parts strategy for those critical parts which are not in the storeroom.
Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering or 8+ years of reliability leadership experience in the Pulping process.
Basic Qualifications:Experience in the Pulping process preferred
Experience with reliability practices
Efficient use of computer based maintenance systems
Efficient use of Microsoft Office Products
Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and to analyze production loss and reliability data

Strong communication skills able to influence groups of people.
Organized and skilled in time management, willing to continuously learn.
Strong analytical ability to identify data trends,
Good at utilizing team structure with specific process tools to problem solve: Safety, Quality, and Production issues.
Proficient in Excel, Power Point, MS Word, etc. Working knowledge of Passport, MES, or SAP is a plus.
