Overview:
An Assistant Buyer provides operational support and assists in the selection and procurement of merchandise for the website to support overall company sales, volume, gross margin, and turnover objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
Identify best sellers to maximize business.
Interface with vendors, members of merchandising team, distribution centers and stores to ensure style plans align with financial plans, merchandising strategies and assortment guidelines.
Manage samples, obtain buyer approvals and prepare for turn-in meetings.
General administrative support of the buying team.
Monitor and resolve issues involving UPCs, orders and shipments.
Pull reports and make business recommendations to the Buyer.
Present advertising layouts for future publications.
Track departmental receipt flows for new and re-ordered merchandise.
Skills Summary:
Bachelor's Degree (or comparable work experience).
1-2 years of buying office experience required.
Proficiency in Excel and Word.
Strong business analytical skills.
Excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills
Aptitude to function within deadlines, while working both independently and as part of a team.
