RockTenn has an opportunity in our Recycle division for an Assistant General Manager in Chattanooga, TN. The role of the Assistant General Manager of a RockTenn recycled fiber plant is to assist and apprentice in the management of all aspects of the facility. Management areas include plant operations (multi-shifts), compliance, safety, business development, employee management, and meeting corporate profit goals. Our goal is to increase our management bench strength within the division. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, open to being mentored, and willing to relocate as needed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the General Manager in the following areas:
SAFETY ? Maintaining a strong focus with the primary emphasis geared towards injury recognition and prevention utilizing corporate assistance as well as awareness programs. ? Directing the training and implementation of all required Safety programs
OPERATIONS ? Understanding and implementing savings initiatives while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction. ? Coordinates the production of the facility in order to achieve division goals. ? Supervises the dispatch of raw materials and shipment of finished goods. ? Maintaining an effective work force through personnel management.
COMPLIANCE ?Maintain compliance in all areas including, but not limited to, OSHA, EPA, DOT and all local codes. ?Maintaining the security of all company assets and information.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ?Seeks out and develops new opportunities for increased business ?Manages and directs the efforts the procurement representative and the customer service representative.
COMPUTER SKILLS?Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
