JOB DESCRIPTION: We are seeking an Assistant Press Operator. Under general direction, this position will assist the Press Operator in order to maintain and operate the press.
IN THIS POSITION YOU WILL:
Observes operation to ensure that specified operating levels are maintained.
Notifies Press Operator when malfunction occurs.
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Maintenance and upkeep of presses and other press support equipment.
Cleaning of all press parts and general preventive maintenance (ink chambers, rollers, wash stations, etc).
Completes all production paperwork and logs as required.
Assists the Production Manager with press related tasks.
Assist in developing and implementing continuous improvement programs.
Performs special projects as assigned.
Will perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.
Requirements:
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma required.
1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Converting and Flexo Press experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & ASSOCIATED SKILLS:
Knowledge of Comco/Mark Andy equipment.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to convert between different units of measurement.
Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully and maintains confidentiality.
Be able to adapt to workload and working conditions while maintaining a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality.
Dependable, consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
Knowledge of equipment, tools, mechanical devices, and their uses to produce motion, light, power, technology, and other applications.
Able to use lift truck or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
Make suggestions or state ideas about improving methods or procedures in an appropriate manner and to have an attentive open mind about new ideas or methods presented.
Must be able to become certified and maintain certification through an OSHA approved forklift certification.
Must be highly safety conscious and comfortable being exposed to high voltage electricity.
Observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.
Strong attention to detail. Organized and has the ability to multi-task.
Strong sense of accountability for results.
Willing to work any shift and overtime as required.
Personal history conducive to receiving a U.S. government security clearance.
