Automotive Designer - Electrical/Electronics Engineering- Salaried Bargaining Unit

The Automotive Designer is responsible for, but not limited to, the creation of explicit geometry, including use of parametric design, completion of advanced/ packaging feasibility studies, completion of manufacturability and/or stamping feasibility studies, packaging assessments of new components/systems (i.e. PDC, HVAC systems, etc.). Collaborate with engineers to complete manufacturing/service studies. Define and execute static and kinematic studies. Conduct part reuse/commonality studies. The Designer uses CATIA V5 and/or Siemens NX CAD systems to perform packaging, concept, design, layout and checking of systems & components including, but not limited to the following areas: Body, Engine Systems, Electrical/Electronics, and Chassis. Design projects include packaging of components, design & tolerance feasibility, wire routing feasibility, geometry design to assure material optimization.

Basic Requirements:

• Associates degree or equivalent training in design/engineering field. Other educational credentials, in combination with relevant
• Engineering experience may also be considered
• Minimum 3 years of experience in CATIA V5 and/or Siemens NX - basic skills test will be administered

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related technical Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited university
• Extensive experience using CATIA V5 or NX parametric solid modeling
• Strong knowledge of Manufacturing, Assembly GDT and Electrical Components, Wire routing methods/best practices
• Body Shop/Trim, Chassis, Final in-plant build experience
• Teamcenter knowledge desired
