The Automotive Designer (Interior Cockpit) is responsible for packaging, concept, design, layout and checking of interior systems and components including instrument panel, console and door panel ponsibilities include, but are not limited to creating 2D drawing/section. Complete changes to existing component geometry. Create explicit geometry, including the use of parametric design. Complete advanced packaging feasibility studies. Complete manufacturing and stamping feasibility studies, Assess packaging of new components and systems. Collaborate with engineers to complete manufacturing and service studies. Define and execute static and kinematic studies. Define and execute part reuse and commonality studies. Assess geometry for design integrity. Build objectives, perceived quality, interferences and load studies, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience designing Interior Components in CATIA V4, IDEA's, UG OR 75% completion of an Associate's Degree in a design/engineering field with formal training in (NX or CATIA V5). Other educational credentials, in combination with relevant engineering experience, may also be considered • Self starter that is comfortable managing multiple assignments • Ability to develop / improve design skills using NX CAD system • Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate degree or equivalent training in a design/engineering field • Extensive experience using CATIA V5 or NX (7.5) parametric solid modeling • Strong knowledge of Manufacturing, Assembly, GD&T and Plastic joining methods • Experience using Teamcenter • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
