Body System Cost and Innovation Engineer
The Body System Cost and Innovation Engineer is responsible for evaluating component cost drivers for production tooling and variable cost for sheet metal stampings. Define virtual manufacturing process layouts, industrial engineering constraints, cycle times, assembly line balancingand activity based cost drivers. Evaluate tooling asset/process and cost collaboration with purchasing and suppliers. Component cost responsibility is retained by SCIE throughout program life (setting target cost, analysis during new business placement, collaborating tooling firm price contracts, design changes and verifying tool assets for corporate tax depreciation.)
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of a high school diploma • 10 years minimum sheet metal stamping and/or assembly design • Build experience converting design to an optimized manufacturing workflow, including secondary tooling on class ""A"" and ""B"" surface body sheet metal components
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field • Production tool design and build experience • Roll forming and hydroforming manufacturing are a plus • Familiarity with practical application of geometric dimension and tolerance (GD&T) • General proficiency in NX/UG, TeamCenter, AutoCAD • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Activity based costing experience • Strong negotiation skills • MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) proficiency
