An industrial client with headquarters in Buffalo, NY, is looking for a Strategic Buyer to coordinate metals raw materials and energy purchasing for its operations. Must have experience negotiating and buying materials and energy on a strategic level. Experience with metals ( copper, zinc, iron, steel, coal, etc. ) is a major plus. Some domestic and international travel up to 20%. Excellent benefits, relocation assistance is available.
Responsibilities:
-> Use your experience in strategic raw materials negotiation and purchasing to negotiate contracts for materials for multiple operating plants
-> Negotiate with metals miners and scrap producers for superior pricing and delivery
-> Negotiate energy contracts for multiple locations for electrical and gasses
-> Coordinate pricing and risk management for materials
-> Develop new global supply alliances, monitor existing contracts, and be ready to take advantage of market conditions as they arise
-> Monitor and manage risk management criteria
Requirements:
-> Bachelor?s degree in business or related field
-> 5 or more years in strategic purchasing in a manufacturing setting
-> Demonstrated success negotiating strategic supply agreements for materials and energy
-> Experience with metals such as copper, zinc, iron, is a major plus
