Job Description Summary: Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain, Forgings and Raw Materials as the Buyer/Planner, you will provide supply chain management to ensure expectations are met relative to delivery, quality, cost, inventory targets and product transfers between suppliers.
Primary Responsibilities:
. Provide and lead relevant Supply Chain activities to ensure expectations are met relative to delivery, quality, cost and material inventory targets. . Ensure that forgings / material are available to meet production and spares requirements. . Work with Supply Chain, Programs, and Operations teams to develop and implement aggressive material cost and inventory reduction targets. . Work directly with Supply Chain and Operations personnel to coordinate internal offload activity at supplier facilities. . Support the negotiation and supplier selection process to facilitate make/buy objectives or offload in support of capacity planning exercises. . Place, monitor and maintain Purchase Orders that meet annual quality, delivery, and cost expectations. . Execute commodity sourcing strategies and participate in and /or lead supplier negotiations. . Interface with Supplier Quality to ensure supplier performance, selection/reduction process continues to yield improvements in the quality of sourced product. . Support Operations, Programs and other functional teams in New Program development activities and Raw Material supplier selection criteria . Lead Cost Savings initiatives such as Forging Optimization with support from Program Management, Planning and Finance . Maintain effective message management and ensure BQ's are addressed in a timely manner. . Lead LDMS on a rotational basis. . Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications: . Bachelor's degree/college diploma in Business, Engineering, or related discipline required. . PMAC or CPIM designation/or working toward designation preferred. . Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in a multi-site manufacturing company required . Excellent communication skills with an ability to effectively interact at various levels within an organization with a logical and organized approach. . Demonstrated knowledge of, or experience with lean manufacturing systems or Six Sigma required . Knowledge/experience in working with SAP . Ability to work well within cross-functional teams. . Demonstrated experience in an aerospace purchasing environment with multiple customers preferred . Goodrich Core Foundation Competencies including Ethics, Integrity, Values and Trust . Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP.
