Contract BUYER opportunity for a well respected firm at a location in either western New York State OR southeastern North Carolina. Projected assignment 12 months. Possible domestic travel up to 10%. Area candidates.
Responsibilities:
-> Prepare and solicit competitive bids, quotations, and proposals with pertinent specifications, terms and conditions as part of a cross functional purchasing team
-> Work with legal, engineering, and the business in the review, approval, execution, and administration of supply/service agreements, contracts, non-disclosure agreements etc
-> Evaluate current and potential suppliers, conduct supplier visits, and evaluate suitability
Requirements:
-> Bachelor Degree in a technical field
-> Minimum 5 years overall experience with minimum 3 years related to technical buyer procurement including minimum 1 years Capital Procurement related to Engineering, Equipment, Construction, sourcing and negotiations, and contracting
-> Need broad range of Procurement experience, Project Management experience as well as knowledge of typical contracts and purchasing items
-> A PLUS to have experience in multi-cultural, multinational firm and 6-Sigma or Performance Excellence training
-> Need solid interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
