Responsibilities:
-> Develop and implement short and long-term purchasing strategy for assigned commodities -> Procure parts, materials and services required in the manufacture and shipment of satellite antennas -> Negotiate, establish, write and manage supply agreements including new supplier Contracts for Purchase, Contracts for Service, Letters of Intent, Memos of Understanding, etc -> Aggressively seek and recommend cost savings possibilities based upon new sources, substitutions, improved systems, or streamlining of existing product lines -> Oversee all activities related to procurement of a commodity from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity -> Manage supplier relationships -> Negotiate settlements with suppliers for problems that could result in financial losses to the company
Requirements:
-> Four-year Bachelor?s Degree -> Five years of procurement experience involving engineering design and manufacturing functions in an industrial environment -> Strong background in procurement of machined and fabricated parts in an electro/mechanical, manufacturing or industrial environment -> Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings -> Ability to interact with internal departments and vendors regarding technical specifications -> Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and team skills with a background in negotiating contracts, strategic purchasing agreements, and multi-year subcontracts -> Procurement contract writing expertise -> Working knowledge of MRP and ERP principles -> Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word, Internet sourcing, and order processing software. -> Preferred Skills: CPM Certification, Government Sub-contracting experience, Familiarity with Supplier Diversity Programs
