C Programmer Analyst
Our client is seeking a candidate that will be a member of a team of developers focused on developing, maintaining and enhancing a proprietary Enterprise Application and related software. The candidate will be working as a programmer/analyst in the UNIX application development group. The candidate will make modifications and assist in re-engineering the platform by participating in the full development life cycle including, analysis, design, coding and testing. In addition, the candidate will have production support responsibilities. All developers in the group are required to routinely interact with and support the QA, Business Analysis, Technical Analysts groups and internal Business groups. The ideal candidate for this position will be a detail oriented and customer focused IT professional with technical & functional experience. This position also requires a high degree of teamwork and interaction with various business units, making interpersonal skills and a positive attitude as important as technical qualifications. Finally, the successful candidate will demonstrate a creative and forward thinking approach to both problem solving activities and development and delivery of innovative, high quality uirements: * Experience in designing and developing server side applications using C in Unix/Linux environments* The ability to reverse-engineer legacy code written to maintain a high level of backwards compatibility* The ideal candidate will have Supply Chain Applications experience* Languages: C, XML, Scripting languages (bash, ksh), SQL* Experience with UNIX, preferably HP/UX* Experience with C-ISAM (Informix)* Interface with different departments within the organization regarding new deployments* Manage, administer, and maintain all processes/procedures on the new hardware* Provides time/resource estimates for assigned tasks* Demonstrable knowledge of software engineering best practices, including version control systems, deployment methodologies, and service-oriented-architecture (SOA) designs* Demonstrable knowledge of data modeling and best practices in database development, including inferring data models from existing data* Understanding of basic Database Administration Understanding of quality and security standards Experience interacting with clients and business partners* Good verbal and written communication skills* Capable of understanding business processes and problems and applying appropriate technical solutions* Proven ability to successfully solve business problems and deliver within budget, time & quality constraints* Effective organizational & prioritization itional Qualifications:* A technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of related experience* Supply Chain/Distribution systems experience
