Job Description

Summary:  TheIT Specialistis responsible for Tier 1 support; hardware, software and network troubleshooting; and preparing computer systems for fielding on various production networks at Camp Dodge, Iowa. 
Essential Responsibilities:
The successful candidate/desired employee will perform the following essential responsibilities: 
* Preparing computers for use on networks by applying a standard system image
* Performing installation or removal of hardware and software
* Performing hardware and software maintenance and upgrade, including the maintenance of NMTC’s electronic technical manual library
* Performing computer and user account administration within an enterprise context
* Providing technical assistance
* Demilitarizing hardware
* Managing assigned work orders
* Creating and/or updating documents such as instructional guides, user manuals, and FAQs
* Developing IT training and documentation for end users
* Preparing and submitting reports on activities
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills

Education and/or Experience                                                 
* Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an IT Specialist or related field preferred. 
* Associates Degree in related computer field or High School Diploma / GED plus five (5) years direct related experience as an IT Specialist / Help Desk Administrator. PLUS …
Must possessat least oneof the following certifications in order to be considered for this position:
* CompTIA Security+
* GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
* Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP)
* (ISC)2 System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
Must possess evidence of passing the following Microsoft exams in order to be considered for this position: 
Either one the following two exams:
* 070-620 TS: Microsoft Windows Vista, Configuring
* 070-623 Pro: Supporting and Troubleshooting Applications on a Microsoft Windows Vista Client for Consumer Support Technicians
Orthe following three exams:
* 073-640 Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring
* 073-642 Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring
* 073-646 Windows Server 2008 Server Administrator

Computer Skills                                             
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general computer knowledge; internet software; spreadsheet software, word processing software and MS Office Suite.
