Description
The Chemical Operator will contribute to the production of surfactant chemicals by assisting in all phases of production work. Daily tasks include: weighing raw material, loading material into drums, operating a fork truck and performing housekeeping for a clean and safe work environment. This position is part of a job family and the successful candidate will be expected to acquire additional skills through on the job training necessary to move up in the organization. This position requires working 12-hour rotating shifts with required overtime.
Qualifications
The successful candidate is required to pass the BASF pre-employment tests, show a valid driver's license, be drug free and have a minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience. Incumbent should have a high school education, or equivalent, and able to work 12-hour rotating shifts (7 to 7) with required overtime. Job duties include: working outside in various weather conditions, performing physical requirements of the job such as; bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 lbs. routinely and 60 lbs. on occasion, climbing ladders and working at various heights. The successful candidate will be very safety conscious and have a high degree of maturity working with and around chemicals, show initiative, attention to detail, be results orientated and customer focused, possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
