Commodity Management Specialist
Hamilton Sundstrand is among the largest global suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products. We design and manufacture aerospace systems for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft and are a major supplier for international space programs. The Commodity Management Specialist plays a key strategic role, interfacing with the Hamilton Sundstrand business units to coordinate, implement, and lead procurement activities for aircraft products. Specific responsibilities include managing procurement responsibilities such as, purchase order placement, on time delivery assurance, analysis, negotiation, and placement of purchasing contracts, and the implementation of business strategies to meet the overall cost, quality and delivery objectives.
The individual will manage the supplier relationship and create 'win-win' outcomes while providing a competitive advantage to Hamilton Sundstrand through supply chain optimization. Specialists may also have responsibility for coordinating a team of supply chain professionals for specific tasks.
The Commodity Management Specialist for Hamilton Sundstrand will be required to lead a wide variety of Supply Chain Management activities associated within the Engineered Items commodity of hardware. This includes establishing and developing plans to meet cost targets while developing sourcing strategies for new programs in conjunction with managing the quality and delivery performance of the incumbent supply base.
This individual plays a key strategic and tactical role in the organization as the focal point responsible for all purchasing aspects associated with the specific account assigned. The individual must be focused, skilled, and persuasive, as the coordination and success of this individual is vital to the organization.
10-15% travel may be required

* 5-10 years experience in Supply Chain, Engineering and/or Manufacturing disciplines with increasing responsibility.
* Knowledge of Supply Chain management in an Aerospace
* Proven contract negotiation experience
* A track record of managing to plan and achieving customer satisfaction
* Proven leadership and communication skills across all levels of the organization
* Cost sensitivity and business judgment with proven bottom line results
* Able to lead in a collaborative team environment
* Export Control and Government Compliance knowledge is preferred
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications
* Knowledge of JDE or other MRP systems is preferred
