Job Title: Composite Supplier Development Specialist Requisition Number: 7165 Functional Area: Supply Chain Work Location: Interiors - Phoenix Job Description Summary: Position Overview The principle purpose of this position is to partner with Engineering, Operations, Marketing and Composite suppliers to develop and implement the highest quality, most cost effective Composite products commodity that meet the customer's requirements. The Composite Supplier Development Specialist will provide technical support to strategic sourcing, suppliers and Interiors manufacturing to review processes and designs to reduce overall cost of Composite products. The Composite Supplier Development Specialist will have experience as a subject matter expert in specialized and complex Aerospace specific/A380 composite commodities and will work within cross-functional teams to resolve complex commodity issues and create and implement commodity strategies that align operational requirements with corporate objectives. Primary Responsibilities: - Perform activities in a wide variety of cross-functional areas including design engineering, component engineering, purchasing, supplier quality engineering, and finance and customer service. - Interface with Engineering in support of design changes, make or buy decisions and developing a specific Composite commodity strategy roadmap, problem resolution and process improvement. - Provides design, analysis and test expertise in support of design, process and supplier changes, participates in the selection of suppliers and contract development activities. - Support Strategic Sourcing activities and move composite commodities and part families to low cost country suppliers. - Develop composite supplier's capabilities to improve the quality and reduce cost of specialized commodities. - Support pre-production purchasing activities for assigned commodities, facilitates transition of commodity purchasing from development group to production group. - Provide input for the development of business plans and manage the implementation of projects to ensure the achievement of operational and tactical goals. - Develop solutions to a variety of complex problems. - Support the development of process specifications and provide technical support to suppliers, quality assurance and operations. Basic Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Required: - Composite structures technician apprenticeship and 5-7 years aerospace composite experience. - Ability to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints or drawings. - Firm knowledge of A380 composite structure. Good project management, organizational and prioritization skills. - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to represent the organization as a prime contact on projects and gain cooperation of others. - Excellent written and verbal skills. - Strong negotiating skills. - Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills. - Supervisory experience preferred. Working Conditions - Physical requirements and environment: - Office environment with moderate noise levels. - Ability to input, access, retrieve, and send information via computer. - Domestic and International travel up to 25%. % Travel Required: 20 - 30% var isResizable = false;
