Controls Engineer-Electrical Design/Controls/Motors

ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER opportunity at a highly regarded firm in the Philadelphia, PA metro. Need experience in electrical system and controls design for motors and other electrical components. Local candidates, no relo. Travel up to 25% primarily domestic but includes some international.

Responsibilities:

-> Perform electrical system design of machinery including electrical drawings, panel layouts, AC and DC and size, select, and specify large motor, drive, and other power components from application parameters and develop bill of materials
-> Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate program of assigned engineering work and projects
-> Program PLC, HMI/Operator interface design for OEM machinery
-> Direct and/or support manufacturing product testing and support installation and startup on site at customer location

Requirements:

-> BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent scientific discipline
-> Minimum 5 years experience in electrical and controls, MS Engineering degree may compensate for one year of experience
-> Proficiency in AutoCAD / Adept-E / equivalent Electrical CAD system
-> Working knowledge of RSLogix 5000 or similar tag based programming
-> Familiarity with FactoryTalk View ME & SE, RSLinx, protocols, especially Ethernet IP
-> Experience with (a) current electrical standards (NEC, CE, NFPA, Arc Flash, UL), (b) hydraulic & pneumatic systems, including the ability to read system schematics, and (c) Knowledge of OSHA and machine safety aspects
-> Knowledge of OSHA and machine safety aspects
-> A PLUS to have PMP certification or Project Management training OR Plastic Extrusion or Packaging experience
-> Good interpersonal communications skills
