Job Description: Job Description: Job Description: Lead a team of varied resources (Electricians, Machinists, Pipefitters, Laborers) in a 24X7 operation across multiple shifts in direct support of the customer's production requirements at a major locomotive repair facility. The Key Job Elements Include: Safety - (1) Conduct job specific safety/risk assessments/briefings; (2) Input safety audits daily into customer's tracking system; (3) Participate in customer sponsored safety meetings/events; (4) Conduct resource work/safety audits to customer requirements: (5) Conduct accident investigations/reports; (6) Ensure a safe work place based on the customer's "Seven Safety Absolutes" and Annual Safety Plan Resource management - (1) Assign work based on daily production plans; (2) Input and update time records for assigned resources; (3) Conducting quality audits to EMD requirements; (4) Train and brief resources on new work instruction/policies; (5) Counsel resources on quality/work issues; Product Management - (1) Review locomotive work plans; (2) Review/analyze locomotive historical records; (3) Review work packages for completeness; (4) Input and tracking of locomotive data via EMD's database; (5) Updating and closing associated locomotive work orders via customer's database; (6) Input and track parts assigned to locomotives; (7) Shopping locomotives for unscheduled and scheduled maintenance; (8) Release locomotives for production Required skills: (1) 5 years direct leadership/management experience; (2) Military/college background; (3) MS Office and associated computer software; (4) Basic electrical/electronic systems theory; (5) Basic Hydraulic system theory; (6) Basic mechanical (engine) system theory; (7) Excellent oral and written communication skills Preferred: (1) Background locomotive operations/maintenance; (2) Engineering degree or Engineering systems degree; (3) Business degree; (4) Material management software (SAP, Oracle, etc); (5) Accumulated skills and experience in industry managing a diverse work group We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V.
