Corpus-Operations Manager Corpus-Operations Manager Location: Corpus Christi, TX Job Code: 131 # of Openings: 1 Description SUMMARY: Manages all operational aspects of two or more lines of business which may include Industrial Breathing Air Services, Fire and Equipment Services, Electronics and Instrumentation Services, Oil Field H2S Technicians, Emergency Medical Services and Emergency Rescue Teams, Industrial Safety Equipment Rentals and Sales or large Specialized Safety Personnel (SSP) Projects. KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED TO CARRY OUT THE JOB: *Associates degree or higher in related field preferred; experience will be considered in lieu of formal education. *Ability to read & interpret technical procedures, safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, & procedure manuals. *Thorough knowledge of Total Safety products and services in assigned area. *Must demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, an unwavering commitment to safety and health and other company policies and procedures. Must possess high ethical standards demonstrated by their approach to business. *Progressive related experience in petrochemical and/or refinery operations or industrial safety equipment industry. *Supervisory experience with an understanding of human relations, training, performance evaluation &health & safety. *Demonstrate leadership and the ability to coordinate resources to achieve maximum profitability, efficiency and utilization. *Effective communication (written, verbal and listening) and interpersonal skills. *Ability to effectively interact with and develop and maintain strong rapport and credibility with senior management in company and client organizations. *Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to speak Spanish, or other second language considered a plus. *Must understand and effectively manage key financial issues that impact operations functions and the business. *Experience with budget preparation and cost control. *Ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete and easily understood written communications and reports. *Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and other data base software. Ability to quickly learn new software applications utilized by company. *Proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility and customer required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Trained in Respiratory Protection and fully certified to wear respiratory breathing equipment (Fit Tested) as required. *Current drivers license from state of residence, and valid proof of vehicle insurance. Must possess good driving record and be insurable by Total Safety US, Inc. insurance providers for vehicle insurance while driving company truck. TRAINING REQUIRED: *Employee Orientation. E -10% - Proactively manages quality, safety and environmental issues and ensures compliance with Federal, State, and Company standards. Works with HSE to recommend develop and improved safety procedures, training, long-range accident prevention and cost containment objectives. E 10% - Manages the use of facilities, personnel, vehicles and equipment to maximize efficiency and profitability. Pro-actively manages assigned inventory and asset availability to satisfy customer needs and demands. Submits purchase requests for equipment and supplies to support service and repair operation. E 10% - Works with Sales, Customer Service and other internal departments to communicate and resolve customer concerns in a timely manner. Provides direct support to sales and marketing as needed. E 20% - Ensures that all documentation and data entry associated with operations are completed in a timely and accurate manner. This includes all inspection and repair documents, job cost billable expenses and time sheets. Completes required reports and communication in a timely manner. Reports status of operational issues to managers ongoing basis. E 10% - Partners with human resources for hiring and firing, performance evaluation, salary and job change actions. Coaches and counsels team and documents employee relations issues. Develops departmental training priorities and related budgets. Ensures that training programs are being utilized and communicates new needs to appropriate parties. Coaches and counsels team to improve technical skills and interpersonal and problem resolution skills. Works to identify and provide opportunities for team to learn new skills and techniques. E 10% - Manages a preventive maintenance program and ensures that vehicles, equipment, facilities and other assets are properly maintained and in top working condition. E 5% - Develops short and long-term forecasts, departmental goals and objectives in areas including staffing, equipment needs, problem prevention, and corrective action program. Works with others to develop new and/or improved procedures, processes and work standards for operational units. Integrates new concepts, technologies and practices and aligns with future needs to meet objectives. N - % - SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES (INTERMITTENT, ON AN OCCASIONAL BASIS, ETC.) Assists with special projects as assigned. Oversees contractors as required. SCOPE AND IMPACT OF THE JOB: *Revenue or budget managed: Conducts budget and financial data analysis. Prepares monthly revenue / expense analysis and projections. *Develops monthly and annual budgets, including Labor Spending Budget for review and approval by higher levels. *Approves spending per policy and signature authorization levels. *Monitors and manages all budget elements to ensure cost effective operation and works with supervisors to quickly correct negative deviations. *Investments decided upon / managed: Prepares specifications for equipment and supplies to ensure capability exists to meet organizational objectives. Manages capital and facility improvement plans. *Nature of Supervisory Responsibility: 1 Manager In addition to supervisory duties, has impact on budgeting, controlling costs, planning, and scheduling & procedural change. *Number of Direct Reports: 2 - 7 Number Indirect Reports: 5 - 20 *Degree of supervision received or the degree of autonomy given: The degree to which supervisor outlines the methods to be followed or results to be obtained and checks work or progress. *Receives direction and guidance from manager to set annual objectives and assists with developing long-term goals for department. Must be responsive and at times persuasive with internal and external contacts. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND DEMANDS: Work Environment: Combination of office and field and shop environments. Some exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, outside and extreme weather conditions, moving mechanical parts and high elevations. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job is regularly required to sit, walk, stoop and bend. Uses hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Compensation/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with experience. This is an exempt managerial position and is therefore not subject to overtime.
