Roles & Responsibilities: The primary role of the European LEAD (Lean Enterprise Across Disciplines) Coordinator will be to lead the region lean enterprise transformation through application of lean principles to rapidly improve quality, on-time delivery, and reduce overall costs. This person must develop a culture of LEAD throughout workforce, be able to clearly demonstrate where LEAD has impact, show level of enthusiasm, lead by example, generate ownership, and get quick successes. This position will report directly to the EMEA Regional Leader with functional reporting responsibility to Cortland’s Global LEAD Coordinator. Skills: • Must be an expert in applying and teaching the fundamental Lean principles, including, 5S and Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, Poke Yoke, Flow, and others. • Must be able to lead continuous improvement events yielding immediate results. • Outstanding group facilitation, training, communication & presentation skills; must be positive, persuasive, and motivating. • Be able to plan and manage the lean event process, and liaise with appropriate departments to get full involvement. • Ability to train & mentor others on Lean principles, and develop and implement company-wide training programmes. • Effective & collaborative problem solving skills • Work effectively in a global organization, with many international contacts and a multitude of different products and markets. • Highly organized project management and budget management Other Competencies: • Ability to Work Globally • Ability to Lead a Multi-Site Team • Ability to make autonomous decisions based on thorough understanding business objectives • Proven ability to lead and interact with Senior Management • Strong influencing and relationship-building communication skills • Ability to work cross-functionally and globally, identifying synergies between products and/or markets to drive efficiencies • Adept at juggling multiple priorities simultaneously • Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines • Experience managing budgets and working within specified departmental/company processes • Advanced verbal, written and presentation skills • Global experience and second language a plus but not required • Must gain a basic technical understanding of our products, applications, and markets. Qualifications: • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on lean implementation experience with a proven track record for developing, training, and coaching company leadership and employee teams in a continuous improvement environment; • Experience driving continuous improvement in both manufacturing and business processes • Multi-plant support experience a plus. • 4-year university degree in engineering, business, or equivalent. • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
