Position Overview:
• Maintain standard cost accounting practices for a manufacturing organization.
• Review SAP reports for “uncosted” materials daily and make sure rolled up cost estimates are reasonable.
• Review purchase price variances and work with the plants/purchasing department on any issues.
• Review revaluation accounts for any adjustments that relate to purchase price variance.
• Review scrap and cycle count adjustments, questioning any large adjustments, and coordinate bi-monthly cycle count meetings with all plants.
• Monitor weekly cycle count reports to assure compliance with cycle count certification.s
• Review freight payment files for discrepancies. Record monthly freight journal entry based on Cass freight payment files.
• Assist with annual physical inventory (light travel required).
• Assist plant and brand analysts with any problem areas.
• Responsible for month end closing journal entries and reports.
• Complete monthly reconciliation’s for assigned accounts.
• Maintain fixed asset records for Progress brand. Assist with Commercial brand fixed asset records as needed.
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
• A Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field of study is required.
• 1-3 (+) years Cost Accounting experience is required.
• Must be computer literate: Excel, Word, and Access
• SAP experience is a plus.
