What You'll Do
As aCost Management Supervisorfor John Deere Power Systems (JDPS) in Waterloo, IA you will lead and develop the Cost Management (CM) processes that support JDPS and Enterprise Direct Material cost goals. In addition, JDPS CM will align with the initiatives of Worldwide Supply Management and the Enterprise Cost Management Team. Major objectives for the future include: * Global growth initiative * Deliver Customer Value (DCV) * Talent management * Business Process Transformation (BPT) As the Cost Management Supervisor, you will have 5 direct reports - 4 Cost Management Specialists located in Waterloo, IA and 1 in Coffeyville, KS. In addition, you will be expected to develop and manage the following processes: * Target Cost Management (TCM): Cost analysis on JDPS new product programs to achieve target cost. Includes bottom up costing, setting target costs, should costing, and gap analysis and recovery plans. * Cost Modeling: Utilize, develop, and maintain cost model tools to support cost reduction and the TCM process. Identify new cost modeling tools. * Price Change Application (PCA): Ensure best price for JDPS through the analysis of supplier price change requests. Identify cost mitigation opportunities. * Project Tracking/Cost Management System (CMS): Gather and track projects by commodity team to support forecasting direct material cost on new and current JDPS products. Communicate year to date and forecast results to Partners. * Commodity Experts/Cost Training: Cost training and guidance for Global Commodity Teams.
We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally, you will have a Bachelor's degree in a(n) Business/Management, Engineering/Technology, Supply Management, or Accounting/Finance discipline or equivalent experience. In addition, we require: * Strong analytical, financial, and statistical skills. * Leadership skills including experience leading or supervising a cross functional team. * Excellent interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills. * An understanding of fundamental business principles and practices. * Excellent presentation skills.
