DCC Supervisor 1-UPS Freight Truckload

UPS Freight is seeking a Transportation Supervisor for our Dedicated Contract Carriage (DCC) business unit to impact the organization by handling accounts up to one million dollars net annual revenue or by supporting DCC manager on larger accounts. Primarily, this position either performs daily customer service activities or supervises the actions of transportation analysts assigned for those tasks.

Areas of Responsibility and Job Duties

  • Gather delivery data and create routes
  • Assign drivers and assets to routes
  • Gather and input delivery data from trip reports
  • Create customer-specific reports
  • Analyze and interpret customer reports
  • Conduct periodic reviews of key performance indicators with customers
  • Develop strategic and tactical plans to meet customer needs
  • Develop professional relationships at appropriate levels
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory agencies and company policies, e.g., DOT and OSHA
  • Hold partners and vendors to contractual agreements
  • Organize the functional department/group structure and work breakdown to maximize productivity and quality results
  • Maintain open lines of communication with direct reports ensuring that essential information from all levels of the organization is transmitted to help employees do their work and be clear on expectations
  • Assign work to direct reports to meet customer needs, leverage capacity, and support personal development
  • Secure necessary resources within time and budget constraints


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience relevant to the job.
  • Proficiency in English required. Proficiency in multiple languages (especially local language) is strongly preferred.
  • Generally, a minimum of 2 years in transportation related experience.
  • Familiarity with safety and compliance agencies and requirements a plus.
  • Candidates should have knowledge of safety and compliance agencies and requirements and be comfortable working in the areas of customer relations and customer service.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years in transportation related experience is required.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance agencies and requirements is required.
  • Legal Authorization to work in the US
OTHER CRITERIA:
