Design Engineer IIITracking Code3294Job Description Responsible for, design, layout, testing and evaluation of electro/mechanical devices. Performs product development activities including, interpretation/implementation of both customer and in-house specifications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Undertake work on projects, either individually or as a member of a team. * Participate in ongoing product enhancements to meet market requirements. * Develop new products from internal concepts or customer requirements. * Design advanced products and solutions with manufacturability. * Maintain awareness of industry trends and developments * Investigate possible solutions to Engineering problems, exercising innovation and engineering judgement to identify the optimum method or technique for undertaking the work. Required Skills
* Creative and able to conceptualize, design and develop highly complex multi-part mechanisms and mechanical/electromechanical assemblies. * Familiarity with metal and plastic part design and fabrication experience. * Significant breadth within materials science. * Experience with, and understanding of, Military, aerospace and industry specifications. * Rapid Prototyping experience. * High-end CAD experience, preferably with Solidworks. * Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with customers, vendors, and factory personnel. * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Good understanding of electrical concepts as pertaining to current and future products
Education & Experience: * BSME. * Minimum 5 years experience in a electromechanical environment. * Minimum of 3500 hours of 3-D computer-aided design experience, using SolidWorks CAD system, capable of creating 3-D parts and assembly models using both original and team-generated uired Experience
* Advanced CAD/CAE experience, i.e. advanced surfacing, FEA. * Experience with tool design and fabrication. * Experience in a Manufacturing or Manufacturing Engineering environment. * Basic understanding of cost accounting.
