Job Description:
Definition of Responsibilities:
- Prepare engineering drawings of moderately complex products and components including UG applications and large assemblies;
- Work involves some creativity in basic design, with work performed independently and decisions made based on general practices and procedures.
Key Job Elements Include:
- Prepares layouts of units and/or complete mechanisms, subsystems and application drawings;
- Creates and utilizes Master Model modification files;
- Develops creative drawings from design objectives established by others considering potential interferences and manufacturing cost;
- Instructs detail drafters and checks their work for accuracy;
- Works small customer modifications, complex Request for Change (RFCs) and well-defined Drafting Work Orders (DWOs);
- Completes engineering records, including releases, charts, graphs and bills of material;
- Prepares drawings utilizing GD&T without reference print;
- Communicates information to and from internal and external customer organizations;
- Seeks design input from customers and has ability to enhance instructions based on experience;
- Utilizes database for order content and PLI structure information;
- Consistently conforms to published application and assembly standards;
- Identifies need for mitigation plans;
- Performs effective root cause analysis of jobs;
- Assists others as required;
- Participates in design reviews;
- Stays abreast of new technology;
- Regular contact with others outside the work group;
- Travels as required.
Qualifications (Required):
- Bachelors Degree (Mechanical or Electrical). (Reqd)
- 3 to 5 years Mechanical Development (design/engineering) experience. (Reqd)
- 4 years of advanced experience in Unigraphics (UGNX) or similar 3D software.. (Reqd)
- High-level of interpersonal skills in order to work with external and internal customers. (Reqd)
- Proficient in COE software. MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Lotus Notes, Internet, FTP and VPN software's. (Reqd)
- Basic understanding of Manufacturing processes and procedures. (Reqd)
Qualifications (Preferred):
- 2 years experience in TeamCenter Engineering (TCe).
- Knowledge of Mechanical Locomotive Systems.
- Understanding of engineering processes and procedures.
