Dir Supply Chain (Shared Services)
The Director Supply Chain (Shared Services) will be responsible for the successful management and execution of Governance, Special Projects, M&A Integration and Improvement activities of the International Supply Chain group. Travel to be 25 - 50%. Responsbilities include:
• Continuously drive improvement in Emerging Market processes & governance • Successfully lead and build the Shared Services sub-team • Create strong partnerships with regional GMs and linkage with global stakeholders • Manage multiple integrations
Position Specific Tasks: Strategic Influence • Independently determines approach to managing daily operations for assigned partners o Guided by Amgen policies and management guidance • Interprets and executes policies that directly affect work activities • Develops and communicates plans/objectives to team • Contributes to functional strategy • Ensures consistent practices across regions • Oversees BPOs for CMCX/globalization Intl Supply Chain Leadership • Delivers results through professional employees and/or skilled technicians • Sets project timeframes and priorities based on project objectives and ongoing assignments; coordinates assignments • Develops and monitors Department budgets and goals • Provides guidance and technical advice and becomes actively involved as required • Institutes standards for International Supply Chain around which others will operate • Establishes center of excellence for meeting management, governance, reporting, and M&A integration activities • Ensures that all aspects of Amgen Ops' commercialization are carefully considered cross-functionally - within Operations and other key partners (Regulatory, etc) Relationship focus • Develops relationships with all ISC staff and cross-functional/regional staff at various management levels to resolve issues and help staff complete specific phases of projects • Takes accountability of the day-to-day operations of the shared service group • Partners with Operational Excellence BPOs to ensure alignment on commercialization processes • Collaborates with Due-Diligence group to ensure smooth transition from Due-Diligence activities to Integration activities • Partners with TA Heads, GOLs, ED Ops AM, Corporate Alliance Management to ensure alignment on key cross-functional/product processes and communication Leads Shared Services sub-team • Provides people/performance management, coaching and mentoring of staff plus • Directs staff on project content/approach. • Builds, maintain, and retain successful team • Manages allocation of shared services resources across regional/AM needs • Elevates issues that may affect successful completion of projects in a timely manner • Focuses on Operational Excellence as a means of driving continuous improvement
Basic Qualifications * Doctorate degree & 4 years of directly related experience OR * Master's degree & 8 years of directly related years OR * Bachelor's degree & 10 years of directly related experience AND * 4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, life or physical sciences; • Advanced degree in science, engineering, or business (MBA). • Skills and experience to include: o Demonstrates the Amgen's Values o Excellent interpersonal skills o Exceptional ability to work cross-functionally and build collaborative working relationships o Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal & written) ; ability to interface effectively with Ops Senior and Executive Management to resolve issues o Excellent communication capabilities vertically and horizontally; ability to leverage contact network to enable cross-functional collaboration; ability to influence o Comfort with complexity and ambiguity, ability to see the big picture, ability to collect, digest and assemble information to enable relevant business analyses and facilitate decision-making o Certified or experience in process improvement methodologies such as Lean/Six Sigma o Planning / negotiation / coaching & project management skills o Results oriented, strong adherence to timelines o Excellent ability to translate knowledge and build high performing teams o Strong analytical and problem solving skills o Self-leadership & motivation
