Drafter-Inventor/Manufacturing/Process Equipment
A leading manufacturer of industrial glass products is currently seeking a Drafting / CAD Technician responsible for design and documentation of mechanical systems for new or modified production equipment at their facility in the Midland, NC, area. This is a CONTRACT position. Assignment length is 12 months with the possibility of extension. Local candidates only.
Responsibilities:
-> Create and modify equipment documentation including drawing packages, installation checklists, machine part lists, illustrations, machine specifications and troubleshooting procedures
-> Direct maintenance, vendor and outside contract personnel in the construction, installation, testing, debug and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment
-> Develop project schedules; specify and procure manufactured equipment and components
Requirements:
-> A.S. Mechanical Engineering degree preferred but will consider experienced candidates with demonstrated skills
-> Proficient in the use of 2D CAD (AutoCAD) and 3D CAD (Inventor)
-> At least 1 year of experience in the design, detail and installation of manufacturing process equipment preferred
-> Experience with material handling equipment would be beneficial
-> Possess a mechanical aptitude and experience in working with mechanical components
-> Good equipment and process troubleshooting skills
-> Good "hands on" mechanical skills, and able to lead teams for equipment installations, modifications, etc
