Our manufacturing client in the Merrimack Valley/Northern Massachusetts area has an Immediate need for an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Plant Technician - 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts.
The E&I tech focuses on initiating and implementing continuous improvements projects in a team environment, to deliver the best product at the lowest cost and at the highest quality in a safe environment.
E&I Techs must be able to:
Complete work under minimal supervision, involving troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation and electrical control systems, process control systems, instrumentation, and operator interface terminals for large scale manufacturing, including but not limited to production lines, mix systems, and palletization areas.
These systems contain multiple PLCs, Servos, HMIs, HART Instruments and Inspection systems.
Effectively communicate with equipment vendors and part suppliers to troubleshoot, order, and improve on equipment and machine design to deliver enhanced equipment performance.
Maintain accurate records and data; and possess strong technical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills; and knowledge of computers.
Schedule, order parts, and perform all machine rebuilds and installations for the site equipment and actively participate in design and documentation improvements for line changeovers, operations and maintenance and coordinates maintenance activities with other members of the team and customers.
Requirements:
Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting techniques for electrical/electronic control systems and platforms and PLC programming.
Thorough working knowledge of programmable logic controllers, specifically, Allen-Bradley. Key PLC concepts include I/O addressing, numbering systems (binary, HEX, octal, ASCII), instructions sets, PLC communication protocols, and data table structures.
Working knowledge of personal computers with Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft office modules and an understanding of various Industrial networking systems.
Must demonstrate competency in the use of test instruments, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and process calibrators.
Be able to lift 50 pounds by bending and stooping; climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders and platforms; twist, turn and bend; enter confined spaces; and stand on concrete floors for an extended period of time.
All applicants must:
- Be 18 years of age or older;
- At a minimum, have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent education;
- Be a USA citizen or be able to work in the USA without sponsorship;
- Complete a three (3) hour test as part of the interview process;
- Be willing to work first, second, or third shift and occasional overtime;
- Able to wear appropriate safety equipment, such as safety shoes, ear protection, and eye protection.
