Electro-Mechanical Assembler
OVERVIEW: Spectro Incorporated has a full time position available in our electro-mechanical assembly department. Under minimal supervision, the Electro-Mechanical Assembler performs basic and intricate electronic / electro-mechanical assembly functions on prototype and production-type hardware according to company workmanship standards and military or NASA specifications.
The Assembler position:
Assists in the development and wiring of engineering models and in the development of assembly methods and wire run lists.
Shall exercises basic problem solving skills and recommends corrective action to supervisor.
May assist the Group Leader in instructing and training lower level assemblers.
Requires competence reading and interpreting wiring lists, assembly drawings and work orders using visual aids, ECN’s , and schematics.
May perform rework from test failures in accordance with company standard repair procedures.
PRIMARY COMPETENCIES:
Thorough understanding of tools used for electro-mechanical assembly
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
Capable of achieving standard assembly times
Good communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Knowledge of job processing
Knowledge of inventory work flow
Dependable on-time performance
Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years experience in electronic/electro-mechanical assembly.
Required to complete job assignments after a minimum amount of verbal instruction by following electrical schematic diagrams and mechanical assembly drawings.
Must have knowledge of bill of material (BOM) structure and be capable of identifying common components used in typical electro- mechanical assemblies.
Excellent manual dexterity along with good soldering skills is a must and attention to detail is essential to produce quality workmanship.
