Job Description
The candidate should have a mechanical, chemical, or electrical Engineering background with knowledge of the systems and operating conditions used in pharmaceutical/Health Care or food processing industries. These systems would include; heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), steam, compressed air and manufacturing processes.
The candidate must also exhibit a proactive attitude to problem solving and to searching out the opportunities to improve energy efficiency and cost. Candidate should have a proven track record in the area of energy conservation particularly from a demand perspective.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. The primary role of the position is to act as team leader to coordinate and guide the team and liaise with the facility when conducting energy assessments (audits) in all of the company's manufacturing facilities.
2. From these site assessments identify opportunities to reduce energy costs and usage in all systems.
3. Develop reports from the observations, findings and data analysis of recording equipment.
4. Identify potential recommendations for the facility to implementation; the recommendations must be pursued from a ROI perspective.
5. Evaluate new efficiency technology for eventual use within the company.
6. Participate in the continuing improvement of the energy program by contributing to the various initiatives of the team, with an ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
7. The candidate will be required to travel domestic and international, approximately 25% of the time. (To travel internationally the candidate must have the appropriate travel documents.)
8. Compile quarterly reports on the company performance to energy and water conservation goals with regard to energy and water costs and consumption.
9. Other projects as assigned.
Job Requirements
1. A BSc or higher degree in a related engineering field. (Mechanical, chemical or electrical)
2. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Should have a minimum of 3 years industrial experience in a manufacturing environment. The candidate should be familiar with energy conservation initiatives particularly in utility systems.
4. Should have Certified Energy Manager accreditation or similar certification.
5. The candidate should be a self-starter, motivated and prepared to work in a team environment.
6. Must posses above average computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office products particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Basic knowledge of other software such as AutoCAD and Visio an advantage.
