The Engineer -- Dimensional Analyst is responsible for measuring product conformance to specifications utilizing multiple measurement instruments and techniques to determine process: stability, capability and on-target requirements. Includes management of all dimensional activities including supporting new product launches, monthly process capability sample audits with continuous improvement initiatives, customer and internal special studies and compliance checks and World Class Manufacturing improvement projects that will improve the quality of the details and assemblies for our customers. This person will also assist with the execution of special evaluations and quality checks to ensure quality product is delivered to the customer and drive and support the cultural change to implement the World Class Manufacturing operating model. The Dimensional Analyst position is located at our Warren Stamping Plant in Warren, Michigan.

This position will be responsible for:

• Quick response to product or process quality issues utilizing data and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methods to drive problem solving
• Standardized quality: methods and practices to assure product and process results
• Communicates findings of measurement and its interpretations analysis to appropriate personnel for intervention and resolution. Makes data visible and summarizes analysis
• Supports dimensional analysis of engineering changes to assure implementation at the right: time, engineering level, dimensional specifications and surface finish requirements
• Analyzes, coordinates, and drives data reviews with appropriate personnel for SPIR/PPAP compliance
• Supports PSO/PPAP activities for pre-launch events
• Analyzes and drives improvement to the quality indicators (internally and externally)
• Identify common cause issues across products and processes and establish interim and permanent corrective actions through process, methods and procedures utilizing WCM principles to support continuous process improvement
• Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data for feedback and key metric improvement

Basic Qualifications:

• Engineering Degree Required
• Knowledgeable and experienced in stamping operations and/or body shop assembly operations
• Must be versed in ISO 9001, GD&T, Gage R&R, process capability, measurement systems, basic statistics and data analysis, PSO/PPAP requirements, and problem solving skills utilizing WCM methodologies
• Exceptional organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft software: Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a fast pace manufacturing environment
• Understand the theory and have practiced World Class Manufacturing (WCM) techniques

Other Requirements:

• Ability to work any shift and overtime as required, including weekends
