Business area deals with the design, modification, integration, testing and certification of surveillance and communication technologies onto manned, special mission commercial-derivative aircraft. The candidate will maintain an active involvement in every step throughout the lifecycle of the modification, integration and airworthiness certification process once a project is initiated.
The Structural Engineer shall perform a variety of engineering work including aircraft structural design and analysis of repairs, modifications and integration of surveillance and communication technologies including antennae, radars, cameras, workstations, equipment racks and avionics. Involved in the creation of conceptual and detailed designs for permanent structural provisions required to integrate mission subsystems and sensors. Also involves reviewing and checking engineering drawings, plans, computations, estimates and reports for completeness, accuracy, and soundness.
Basic Qualifications: 0 Years EXP with Bachelors in Science.
•Ability and experience in creating engineering detail, assembly, and installation drawings.
•Ability to identify load paths, select materials and preliminarily size structures and fasteners.
•Possess an understanding of standard engineering drawing conventions.
•Possess the ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to a fast-paced work environment.
•Possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
•Proficient with Microsoft Office products
must be able to obtain a government security clearance
Preferred Qualifications: •Prior design experience using SolidWorks CAD software.
•Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and familiarity with documents needed to routinely maintain commercial aircraft: Structural Repair Manual (SRM), Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC), etc.
