Description
BASF's Evans City site is an inorganic, specialty chemical, manufacturing site with four distinct process areas on a 70 acre site. It is the Regional Business Unit's (RBU) headquarters for the N-CAN Inorganics group and as such is the home for the RBU's sales, marketing, research and development, process improvement, and operations. The position will involve a series of increasingly in-depth work assignments as students experience and knowledge improves. Upon successful completion of the three assignments, opportunities typically exist for entrance into the BASF Professional Development Program (PDP).
The primary responsibility for the position is to enhance site chemical operations and maintenance for improved reliability and operations at a lower cost. The assignment will give you the opportunity to:
* apply your engineering education in real-world applications, * improve the site's operations and maintenance functions, * increase your knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems, * interact throughout the production, site services, technical engineering and maintenance functional areas, * hone your planning, organizational and communication skills, * get a first hand insight into the specifics of maintaining a diverse specialty chemical operations facility, and * advance your career by demonstrating your technical expertise as well as your personal skills and commitment.
Qualifications
The nature of the projects and assignments require the following skills:
* Engineering background of study, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical preferred. * Project management skills. * Computer skills related to computerized maintenance management, SAP, MS Office applications * Logical and systematic problem solving skills * Ability to work well in a team situation across various functions and operating environments * Clear and concise oral and written communication skills including presentations and reports
