Engineering Manager-Hydropower/Senior PE/Plant Design
Clean renewable energy company is seeking a Senior Hydro Engineering Manager to join their team in either Boston MA or Bellingham, WA. Role will be to lead the Engineering staff first and foremost. Will need hydropower plant design experience. Will utilize your background in evaluation, rehabilitation, construction and cost estimating for clients projects. Mechanical and or Civil Engineering background/degree is needed. PE in either is a PLUS. Work environment is wholistic and culture is collegial. Minimum of 8 years experience is required. Relocation available. Up to 25% travel. Client offers stock options, bonuses, insurance, 401K. Very established group! **Very interested and capable of bringing Canadian citizens on board too**
Responsibilities:
-> Lead the Engineering team by example, training and follow through
-> Develop your team to become more in step to projects and processes needed to get them done timely and in budget
-> Deliver high quality projects with high returns on investment
-> Develop feasibility studies, functional layouts and structural designs (all part of project development)
-> Construction oversight of both new building and rehab.; for a variety of hydroelectric related structures
-> Take part in specification writing and construction oversight for licensing
Requirements:
-> Civil or Mechanical Engineering Degree (PE is a plus)
-> Highly knowledgeable with cost estimation and the laying out of projects (these are apprx. $30 million in size)
-> Minimum of 5 years experience in designing, developing, evaluating or operating conventional hydro PROJECTS
-> Working knowledge of Hydraulic modeling is a PLUS
-> Experience with FERC licensing and other Federal and State permitting, is a PLUS
-> Excellent Oral and Written skills are a necessity of the job
-> FYI....this job DOES NOT involve the constructing of Dams
