What You'll Do:

At John Deere Power Systems in Waterloo, IA as anEngineering Supervisor - Application Designyou will define design strategies and guidelines for engine applications and systems while ensuring new designs meet quality and reliability goals by completing PV&V plans. In addition, you will have the opportunity to:
* Provide daily work supervision, design direction and technical guidance to a functional group of engineers located in India as well as in Waterloo, IA.
* Work with base engine design and other application design teams to define design needs and project schedules.
* Develop program schedules that meet with base engine product delivery, application product delivery and supplier lead times.
* Implement application product delivery programs on time by working with the engine factory, PV&V, vehicle partners, marketing and supply management.
* Coach and mentor a team of engineers located in India as well as in Waterloo, IA.
* Develop design guidelines and best practices.

We need an excellent communicator who thrives on solving complex problems and working in a team environment. Ideally you will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additionally we require:
* 5 years of experience in a Product Engineering position.
* 3 years of experience in Development and Design of engine components or vehicle applications.
* 2 years of proven leadership experience such as project management and/or leadership of cross functional teams.
* Experience utilizing PDM and ProE.
* Experience with design for Six Sigma, design of experiments, and robust engineering practices.
* Experience in Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) including test planning and execution.
* Knowledge of a formal product delivery process.
A strong candidate will have previous direct report leadership experience as well as knowledge of SAP software.
