The Gas Turbine Fuel Systems Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation located in Clyde, N.Y. is seeking candidates for one 2ndshift and one 3rdshift Engineering Technician position. Key responsibilities for this position include: · Support tool room in developing assembly fixturing/tooling/test fixtures for development programs. · Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data of parts to determine specified part requirements. · Evaluate equipment advantages and disadvantages. · Evaluate product and be able to improve results. · Run and inspect production and re-work jobs. · Perform a variety of machining operations required to modify development hardware for assembly and test. · Provide programming support. Utilize applicable software for fixture design, part programming, and the development of process instructions. · Support “productionization” of development programs. · Work with suppliers to resolve quality/manufacturing problems. · Work with design and manufacturing engineering to review adequacy of manufacturing documentation. · Perform other related responsibilities.
Qualifications: · Requires a minimum of four years of related experience, trade or military training, and the understanding and demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities. Requires an Associate’s degree in a related field. · Must know how to design, develop, and use fixtures, end mills, insertable tooling, drills, form tools, etc. Must be able to setup and operate a variety of manual and CNC machines including EDMs, mills, lathes, and grinders. · Must understand tool usage, tool life, feed and speeds. · Must be able to setup and operate Vertical Machining Centers. · Must possess experience with machining stainless steel and super alloys. · Must possess experience in ISO (G-code and M-code) programming. Minimum of one year technical programming experience. · Capable of on-line and off-line CNC editing. · Must possess computer skills including Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Experience with Solid Works and Pro-E is a plus. · Demonstrated ability to read engineering drawings, sketches, schematics, and procedures. · Must demonstrate effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and interpersonal skills. · Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player. · Must possess knowledge and understanding of lean processes and techniques. · Demonstrated problem solving capabilities. · Ability to work independently and make decisions based on written procedures and criteria. · May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. · Must meet essential functions for the position.
