We are excited to announce the opening for an Engineering Technician. An Engineering Technician is responsible for providing technical support to various Engineering functions in order to accomplish project and company goals. Support could be in one specific function or provide support to multiple Engineering functions included but not limited to Electrical, Mechanical, Reliability & Safety, Optical, and/or Design. This person works as a coordinated engineering support team and participates in and supports the development of products and technologies through the application of well-grounded knowledge and practical applied engineering skills. This person applies standard practices and process to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
Responsibilities: . Work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Software and Manufacturing personnel in the assembly of non-standard, non-reoccurring engineering projects . Assisting in electrical/yield issues with designs in productions. . Assist in printed circuit board assembly documentation related to boards with design issues and obsolete components. Including the processing or documentation to support revision. . Responsible for test and trouble-shooting of printed circuit boards to the component level. . Assist in board level rework to incorporate design changes as well as mechanical rework to prove new ideas including rework on boards with surface mount components including fine pitch ICs and tiny components. . Research and recommend second sources and obsolete component replacement to support Engineering and Manufacturing . Facilitate Engineering response to some vendors and suppliers related to drawing clarification and details. . Assist engineering in the documentation required of each phase of the Product Development Lifecycle to ensure new product introduction timelines are met. . Assist in documentation involving Engineering Change Orders including recommended changes and effectively. Basic Qualifications: . A 2 year Degree in a technical field and 2 years relevant work experience in an electronics manufacturing or engineering environment required. . Knowledge of production, test, troubleshooting and repair processes required for and related to electronics products manufacturing. . Previous experience and knowledge of complex electro-mechanical assemblies, and software based products, required . Proven ability to work independently to solve problems given limited direction and scope, required . Ability to train others on the operation of complex technical systems. . Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal customers, Sales, Business Development, Engineering, and Production team, required . Demonstrated competence in oral and written communication. . Familiarity with electronics, circuit board manufacturing technology, and circuit board and electro/mechanical assembly functional test methods and procedures is preferred . Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, World-Wide Web, and e-mail. . Familiarity with Engineering documentation standards, ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings, specifications, and electronic schematics. % Travel Required: 0%
