Equipment Engineer
The Controls Equipment Engineer is responsible for coordinating and providing electrical engineering support during design, installation and launch of new program manufacturing equipment. This position will write specifications, request for quotes, requisitions, and manage contractors and/or project teams. Ensure all equipment purchases are compliant to Chrysler Group LLC's, state and federal addition, this position will review and approve electrical and fluid power drawings, controls architecture for PLC/CNC/HMI, diagnostics, electrical components, software's and HMI screens for the purchased manufacturing equipment. The Equipment Engineer will also handle run-off, startup, debugging, qualification support, and troubleshooting down equipment. Track equipment build and resolve controls issues from the equipment design phase through the age documentation, software and final deliverables including hand-off to Chrysler Group LLC plants. Implement IT applications, part traceability and WCM (World Class Manufacturing) requirements as outlined by Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Plant Manufacturing Engineering.
Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology is required
• Certifications/Licenses- Auto Cad and PLC programming proficiency is required
• Five (5) years' experience in manufacturing, controls engineering, maintenance or related field, candidates with less than 5 years' experience will be considered based on other factors
Preferred Qualifications: • Advanced degree
• PLC programming -- Rockwell, Siemens, Fanuc and Mitsubishi Controls
• 10 years in manufacturing, controls engineering, maintenance or related field
• Communications -- Ethernet TCIP, Ethernet IP, DH+, RIO, DeviceNet, ControlNet, RS232 RS422 Serial, Sercos
• Software -- Rexroth - PPC Visual Motion, Rexroth - Indralogic, Rexroth - Drivetop, Rockwell - RS Logix 5, Rockwell - RS, Logix 5000, Rockwell - RS Linx, Rockwell - RS Networx, Rockwell - Factorytalk AssetCentre, Rockwell - GML, Rockwell - RSView, Rockwell - Panelview/Panelview Plus, Indusoft - Web Studio, Microsoft - Office, Excel, Word, Visio, Microsoft -- Visual Basic, AutoCad
• Robotics, stamping press and automation equipment experience
• Experience in fluid power design
• Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project and Outlook experience
• Ability to work any shift, overtime and some travel national and international
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction (self-motivated)
• Strong written/oral communication
• Ability to communicate to all levels of management
• Excellent people skills and able to work within a team
