The Facilities Management Specialist position at the Department of Employee Trust Funds offers a challenging opportunity for an individual with varied facilities management skills and experience, including space management and design, health and safety assurance, building maintenance coordination, building security, and a variety of other facilities-related services. The position independently manages all building facilities functions for two office sites in Duties: Ensure compliance with building accessibility requirements defined by Wisconsin Administrative Codes, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, OSHA standards, and other federal and state safety codes and space management standards; analyze building services requests and determine appropriateness; oversee purchasing and inventory of office furnishings and equipment; oversee office space / building requests and implement leasing contracts as necessary; act as a primary agency liaison with the Department of Administration, outside vendors, contractors, and other involved parties for all facilities management-related issues; troubleshoot a variety of issues; manage agency safety, security, parking, maintenance, and inventory control issues for the Department; oversee Department health and safety program and committees; serve as the Department?s Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) representative; interpret and communicate facilities ? related policies, such as parking, building access, identification cards, building passes, etc. and assure compliance with policy requirements; respond to building ? related problems and complaints, such as air quality, tenant issues, ergonomic issues, maintenance problems; plan, develop, and design office space layout and usage, including utilizing computer-aided drafting equipment (AutoCAD, Visio) to configure office work space, telecommunication and computer equipment, furniture, and electrical outlet installation, etc. ; coordinate office moves; develop policies and procedures and prepare reports; act as the Department?s trainer and spokesperson regarding all facilities-related issues.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of facilities / office space management and maintenance concepts, policies, issues;general principles and concepts of facilities safety / ergonomics; facilities leasing policies and procedures; computerized office design equipment, such as AutoCad, Visio; State purchasing, procurement, inventory, and leasing policies and procedures; project planning and management methods and techniques; State regulations related to parking, building access, security, etc. ; Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), OSHA standards, state and federal safety regulations; problem resolution and negotiation skills; excellent oral and written communication and inter-personal skills, customer service skills.
