* Apply for this jobonline * Refer a friend to this job More information about this job: Responsibilities/Description: Provide technical assistance on installation, startup, servicing, overhauls, and troubleshooting of D-R made equipments (i.e. centrifugal compressor, steam turbine, reciprocating compressor, control systems) throughout the Asia Pacific region. Candidates with experience in steam turbine power generation, power plant overhaul (up to 100MW), and geothermal application will be highly regarded. * Troubleshoot mechanical problems encountered at field, with engineering support from D-R Technical Support Group based in Kuala Lumpur and factories. * Write clear, concise, professional daily reports. Complete the specified installation, commissioning and startup documentation prior to leaving job-site. * Maintain and submit accurate expense reports and time sheets in a timely manner. * Arrange professional travel to job sites through D-R's travel group per instructions received from the Field Service Manager or Field Service Coordinator. * Instruct and train customers' operators and/or maintenance personnel when requested or directed. * Accurately record and report any problems encountered in the field to permit the factory to investigate and institute corrective action. * Report on competitive equipment and customers' compressor needs. Be aware of potential opportunities to offer D-R products and services and be able to discuss these with clients. * Support and participate in Dresser-Rand quality programs. * Adhere to all the requirements of the Employee Code of Ethics.
Applicant must be willing to travel to domestic and international job sites 70-80% of his/her time.
Qualifications:
Required * Good knowledge of operation and maintenance of rotating equipment machineries. * 3+ years in Maintenance of Rotating Equipments or hands on trouble shooting at field. * Working knowlege of Microsoft Office products. * Adequate safety training at supervisory level. * Familiar with different practices at power plant, refinery, petro-chemical sites, and offshore production facilities. * Willing to travel to domestic and international job sites 70-80% of time. Job Specific Responsibilities/Qualifications: * Ability to read mechanical prints and drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's), and blue prints. * Team player. * Must have ability to develop client relationships, display excellent listening skills, and maintain a positive attitude. * Basic computer skills are required: the ability to use Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and internet connection tools. * Math skills through geometry, and preferably trigonometry, are required for this job (ability to do alignments and calculate tolerances).
