Fruit Fillings; Inc. was founded in 1981 in Fresno, California by Stephen G. Norcross, Everett E. Norcross Jr., Everett E. Norcross III, and Keith L. Siemens. A spin-off of Robb Ross Foods, Inc. a full line bakery distributor operating in Central and Northern California. We specialize in all phases of fruit products from the simple strawberry glaze to the most sophisticated pectin based jams. Custom formulation is also a part of our everyday production, our staff food chemists can provide custom products for shipment to all four corners of the globe.
We are seeking a Food Safety Manager who will be responsible for:
Food safety and HACCP compliance and review of daily production documentation
Provides HACCP guidance to the operation, including HACCP plan reviews and validation
Coordinates with Research and Development on product formulation safety and approval
Responsible for food safety as it relates to vendor management
Ensuring that the facility, including the off-site warehouse, meets all food safety laws, regulations, and corporate policies
Accountability for food safety during all hours of operation
Responsible for adherence to the Allergen management program, including new product review for allergen content
Interfaces with and responds to regulatory agencies during Federal or State audits to ensure compliance to regulations.
Interacts with federal or state inspectors regarding product releases
Responsible for HACCP, GMP, and food safety training at regular employee meetings
Oversees the Quality Control technician team
Creates and maintains wastewater reports for federal, state and local agencies
Involves daily interaction and coordination with Plant Manager and R & D Manager
Ensures compliance to all standard work processes, including Production Sanitation
Ensures that the plant is in compliance with all regulations, including Food Safety, sanitation, allergen control, pest control, and regulations relating to acidified foods production
Is an active member of the Food Safety Team
Responsible for overseeing and managing the Organic Program
Adheres to and administers company policies and procedures
Manages GFSI program: manuals, audits, and daily compliance
Manages, trains, and reports findings of the Fruit Fillings’ Cross Audit Team
Creates and manages specification and nutritional information for company and proprietary products
Monitors Construction Food Safety plans for appropriate and consistent content, documentation and execution
Manages and oversees water quality requirements and reporting
Responsible for environmental pathogen monitoring and reporting
Performs all other duties as assigned by management
Working Conditions:
Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production, non-production and plant grounds
The position may require approximately 5% travel and work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends

Requirements:
BA degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related studies
Five (5) to seven (7) years experience in quality and food safety is highly preferred
Candidate Minimum Qualifications:
Previous HACCP certification program design and implementation is required
Thorough technical knowledge of quality and food safety is required
Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical ability, leadership strengths and ability to work with a team are required
Computer software skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Genesis ESHA (or other nutritional formulation programs) required
Candidate Preferred Qualifications:
Food processing and packaging is desired
Experience in managing process is preferred
Prior GMP experience
Understanding of GMP, SSOP, SOP, PM, Organic programs
Better Process Control School completion / Certification.
