Role Summary:
We are currently seeking hard-working, motivated individuals for an entry-level production opening at our LaPorte, Indiana manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities·: * Operates can packaging equipment and other related pieces of automatic and manual equipment as assigned. * Observes operation of equipment for any deviation from standard and stops equipment when necessary, takes corrective action, and notifies Supervisor. * Clears jams in equipment and conveying systems. * Continually inspects quality of cans and notifies Supervisor of any off quality material. * Is responsible for quality of cans being packaged and product loaded and shipped. * Prepares and maintains reports and records. * Performs duties with regard to safety of self and other employees while exercising proper care and protection of company property. * Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. * Performs duties under normal operating conditions with a minimum amount of supervision and direction. * Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of a lift truck to move product, material, and supplies. Job Requirements :
* Must have the ability to work 12-hour crews. Must be able to work on both night and day crew. Must be able to work any day of the week as this plant currently operates on a 4 on/ 4 off continuous operation schedule. * Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds. * Must be physically able to climb, bend, and work at elevated heights from lifts and platforms. * Must be able to work safely under pressure in order to complete tasks in a timely manner. * Must possess good understanding of general workplace hazards and proper safe work practices such as Lock-out/Tag-out. * Must have a strong mechanical aptitude. * Must have a High School diploma or equivalent. * Strongly prefer candidates with at least 2 years prior experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
